We've heard these tips before but they bear repeating and overall the message is a really good one. It is excellent for young adults trying to find appropriate direction and alternatives for their lives and their future. While the majority of this book emphasizes personal development and achieving corporate results with a hip-hop attitude, it's important to note that this is not a book on how to succeed in the music business (though it will certainly be of tremendous benefit to any aspiring music industry professional), this is a book on how to "make it happen" in any industry.     |

Simple advice, but that's often the best kind. This book brought into focus the step-by-step approach to being able to make a favorable impression on the first meeting and reinforced tecniques that make you appreciated by those with whom you speak. It is a delighfully charming, easy to read book, that captivates from the first page and will keep your interest through to the end. The way Brian Tracy writes is easy on the eye and the things he asks you to do to become more charming are easy to put into practice. Highly recommended. |

The author explains how to create and manage a company file; create accounts, customers, jobs, invoice items, and other lists. Then, the author describes how to bill customers, manage the money that your customers owe you, pay for expenses, run payroll, manage your bank accounts, and perform other bookkeeping tasks. She also explains how to keep your inventory at the right level, how to keep track of time and mileage, how to build budgets and plan for the future, and how to use QuickBooks reports to evaluate every aspect of your enterprise. Finally, she helps you take your copy of QuickBooks to the next level. With over 600 pages of material spanning 23 Chapters and 3 Appendixes, this is a solid bargain. Clear, concise, and well worth the price. |

It is a very good book on how to make things happen in a corporation. It covers the ideas of Jack Welch at GE and some other companies such as EDS. Both authors have had long careers involving the executive management of large companies, and this book strongly reflects that involvement. Many points are directly pertinent to the world of big business, but the book can still have value for those not of that world. The authors focus relentlessly on HOW some decision-makers get results and WHY most others don't. Without execution, companies are doomed to failure. Execution bridges the gap between thinking and action in the corporate arena. This book is great for all levels of management. |

By comparing the current American Empire (for it is an empire, they insist) to the Roman, Spanish and British empires that have gone before, Bonner and Wiggin lead the reader down a path that is both vivid and frightening, and entertaining. Centuries on, Rome is still there, and a great city to visit. Spain and Britain survive and, although they are no longer world rulers, their citizens seem happy enough. What will be America's fate? And will the American Empire end any time soon so that present world citizens might actually do something to prepare? Who knows! Not Bonner and Wiggin! Still, America has the most dynamic economy on earth, doesn't it?! Hmmm! You must read this book and find out just how 'dynamic' it really is! |

Many corporate changes fail during implementation. After reading this book, it is easy to see why change doesn't stick in so many cases. It's so obvious - now! The book is practical, clearly written, insightful and interesting. The anecdotes and firsthand stories add color and personality, and so clearly place the lesson in front of the reader. And every chapter ends with Questions to Ponder, and specific instructions on how to put the principles into practice. A masterly offering, indeed! |

The quintessential American company, JCPenny prospered throughout the 20th century, even during the Great Depression. After decades of expanding inventories and properties - after setting a fabulous goal of "4 Billion or More in '94" - before the end of the 1900s, the retail giant's stock had fallen from $78 a share to just $8. What happened to this once proud icon of the American Dream? CELEBRATION OF FOOLS: An Inside Look at the Rise and Fall of JCPenny reveals the answers in this compelling cautionary business story. An excellent read! I picked up a few good solid business ideas, too. |
